SIR HARRY WELLS

We are sorry to inform you of the death yesterday of our Sunshine Chairman Harry Wells.  Harry joined SIR in 1995.  He will be especially missed by his many SIR friends.  A memorial service will probably be either later this month or in early November.
Harry Wells passed away at Mercy San Juan Hospital on Monday October 6, 2008 at the age of 73.  He retired from the Air Force as a Serior Master Sergeant.  He then worked at Sutter Memorial Hospital for over 20 years advancing from Nuclear Medicine Supervisor to Admn Director of Diagnostic Imaging.  He was also very active in Nuclear Medicine research developing heart imaging procedures.  He was a member of the Elks, American Legion and an active cook in our SIR 102 cookouts for several years.

Big Sir Joe Virga

I have to apologize for some incorrect information I gave our Big Sir Joe Virga earlier concerning Harry Wells' work experience. A page must have slipped somehow and I  collected wrong information about Harry's work background. The correct information is supplied by Don Braatz, his friend (and boss) for many of Harry's working years. Harry was a great gentleman, (who I talked into taking the Sunshine Chairman's job) and it was a real pleasure knowing him.  I'm sure Harry would accept my apology and hope you will too.
