We are sorry to report the death of a fine SIR friend.  Jerry Robertson died 12/7/2010 at Kaiser Hospital South at 2:25 p.m. of congestive heart failure.  He was 70 years old and joined SIR #102 in July of 1997 upon being sponsored by Don Wagner.  Jerry was a Viet Nam Navy veteran who worked on river boats  patrolling the rivers and delta serving two tours in Viet Nam and receiving two purple hearts. In civilian life he worked for the California Youth Authority.  Jerry was an avid #102 golfer.  He will be missed and our thoughts today are with his wife Lucy and her family.

ROBERTSON, Jerry S.

On Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, Jerry S. Robertson died of congestive heart failure at Kaiser Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lucy Quarry Robertson, father of Evelyn Robertson, Denise Jones, son-in-law Mikes Jones, and step son Patrick Quarry. He is grandfather to Cayla Rae, Tyler, and Jared Jones. He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Robertson and brother Joe Dean of Parsons, KS. He has another brother Ronnie Lee and wife Saundra of Belton, MO, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry retired from Calif. Youth Authority after 34 years of service as a Sgt. He was a 22 year member of Carmichael Elks #2103 and SIRS. Jerry was a proud Viet Nam veteran who served on the U.S. Navy PBR's. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA or Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, Jan. 9, 2010 at Vince's Italian Restaurant, 8901 Elk Grove-Florin Rd., Elk Grove, CA from 1-3PM.
