SIR PETERS, Jr., James David

Jim was born September 28, 1926 in Modesto, California, and died peacefully
January 6, 2009 at home. He was preceded in death by Lorraine, his wife of 50
years. He was the loving father of Lynn Campbell (Gary), David Peters (Marie),
and Karen Flens (Frank); grandfather of Mary Moore (Vincent), Katie Peters,
Hannah Flens, Natalie Flens, Rachael Peters, and Jessica Flens;
great-grandfather of Kaleb Moore and Noah Moore. Jim served his country in the
United States Navy from 1944-1946. He retired from Pacific Bell in 1983 after 37
years of devoted service. Jim was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, having
received the Hiram award in 1979 and the California Grand Masters' Youth Service
award in 2008. He joined Scottish Rite in 1977; was Master of Kadosh in 1989,
and in 1993 was decorated with the rank and honor of a Knight Commander of the
Court of Honour. Jim was coroneted an Inspector General Honorary of the 33rd
degree in 2003. He was active in Ben Ali Shrine and in the clown unit as the
famous Sweet P. He was a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Claymore Clan.
Jim had 35 years of devoted service to the International Order of Job's
Daughters in California as a Past Associate Grand Guardian and Grand Treasurer.
Jim was a beloved friend and will be missed by many. A Memorial Service will be
held on Monday, January 19, 2009 at 11:00 am, at the Scottish Rite Masonic
Center, 6151 H St, Sacramento CA. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes
donations to the Jim & Lorraine Peters Scholarship; checks payable to
California Job's Daughters Foundation, 303 West Lincoln, Ste. 210, Anaheim, CA.

We recently lost a fine member. Jim
joined SIR 102 in 2000 upon being sponsored by Dave Locy. He
had had quite a life. He was in the Navy from 1944 to 1946 then
upon leaving the service he went to work for Pac Bell where he spent
37 years. He was a 33 degree Scottish Rite Mason as well as
a Ben Ali Shriner. Jim's funeral will be Monday the 19th of
January at 11:00 a.m. at the Scottish Rite Masonic Center (6151 H.
Street.)
