We lost a fine member today in Tom Genovese.  Tom has been fighting cancer for some time. He was 88 years old

and had an interesting life working in his younger years as a pharmaceutical sales representative .

He was also an Iowa boy who as a lad had an opportunity to "hold" Bob Feller's pitcher glove between innings of a professional

series ball game.

It meant a lot to him.  He always said that because he was born on July 5th, he was" a Fourth of July fireworks....... that fizzled."

Tom joined SIR #102 in 1993 when sponsored by Bob Lamora.  Even during his later years fighting cancer, he made every

effort to attend our monthly SIR meetings.  For many years he was a constant weekly player within our Golf Club.

We certainly enjoyed his friendship and our sincere condolence wishes are now with his wife Ruth.

He was and is.......a good friend.

Big Sir Dick Larsen
