We are sorry to advise the death of former Big Sir Don Gaynor.
Don turned 91 years old 7/14/2007, the day of his death.

Born in New Jersey, his early business adventures were delivering newspapers and golf caddying.  Early on, his family (immigrants from England and Scotland)  apprenticed him to a maker of furniture and slip covers. Here he learned the “whole nine yards.” of the upholstery business.  Don served with the Army Engineers from 1942 until 1945.  Upon discharge he started his own furniture upholstery business and also taught adult education for 7 years.  In 1957 he came to California as foreman for the Brueners Furniture Company. He later left to start his own  upholstery business.

SIR Charter member Don Gaynor was our Big Sir during 1992 as well as being active in other organizations.  He was a past-president of the Fair Oaks Rotary as well as a Commander of the Fair Oaks VFW.

He dearly loved his deceased wife Cathy, vegetable gardening, flowers and most certainly SIR #102. His obituary with funeral details will be in the Sacramento Bee early next week.  We'll miss you Don.
